What lies within….?

With all the high-end concealers and cosmetics on the market, its often a challenge to find the right shade of concealer that will “hide” all the dark spots, acne scars, and imperfections on our faces. Makeup junkies like myself often spending countless amounts of time looking for and reviewing makeup brands that would compliment not only my skin tone but the faces of my clients as well. It’s true, I admit… we live in a generation where we put high regard in vanity and very little time in things that matter most…. like the HEART! We do great jobs at concealing imperfections, hiding any noticable flaws that may rear its head on our exteriors, putting on an illusion of being flawless, while underneath hasn’t been dealt with. It’s easy to ride on the surface of anything. What’s important lies within. Deeper. While our outer apperance looks “BEAT” as we say in the makeup world, our interiors have BEAT us down.  Proverbs 25:28 puts it this way, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” We fail to encourage, we fail to share/give, we speak negatively, we judge, we are easily angered, quick tempered, in essence what we are lacking is the Fruits of the Spirit, which are:

  1. Love
  2. Joy
  3. Peace
  4. Longsuffering
  5. Kindness
  6. Goodness
  7. Faithfulness
  8. Gentleness
  9. Self-control

We like the fruity lip glosses and how they taste but we don’t embrace those fruits that are truly beneficial to our growth and the growth of others, spiritually. MAC, Maybelline, L’Oreal and Makeup Forever can conceal the outside making us ‘appear’ great but the true beauty of us all lies within our hearts. True beauty comes when we embrace who God called us to be. When we are accept him as our Lord and Savior and allow His Holy Spirit to take control and pilot our hearts. Its submitting to His Word and allowing him to enter in and allowing his Blood to wash away all those interior scars and blemishes. You can’t focus on the outside without dealing with the inside 1st. While people look at outward appearances, God looks at the heart. –1 Sam 16:11

Your job will be to get into the Word to find out exactly what it is God is going to want to change about you. You will need to find out exactly what qualities God will want you to try and “put on” into your personality and what qualities He will want you to try and “put away.”  Pray and ask Him, He is always ready and willing to show you his Will for you life.

Be encouraged and Always be Radiant on the inside and out.

You A.R.E,

I really like the highlight on Proverbs 25:28. Prayerfully I’ve been able to control my spirit and in turn have been able to control my actions when someone angers me. It’s as if God Himself shines the light on why people do what they do to try and get some kind of reaction from me. Majority of the time I notice it is their insecurities or perhaps some issues they are dealing with that day. Anyway I just wanted to share how important it is to stay connected with God (He lies within us). Nice post.
