Review: EOS Lip Balms

EOS Lip Balms… Evolution of Smooth Lip Balms are what they are called. They’re these cute little eggs shaped lip balms. I bought the light pink one, which is the Strawberry Sorbet one. You get a lot of product with these lil’ mini eggs. They don’t fit in your pocket without being highly noticeable. I almost want to say that they are marketed for females because I can’t really see a man carrying around one of these bulging from his jeans pocket. I know that if I gave one to my husband, he would probably look at me funny, like, “What am I suppose to do with this?” He’d 9 times outta 10 give it back and ask for his Blistex.

Here’s what the product claims:

eos Visibly Soft(TM) Lip Balm, enriched with natural conditioning oils, moisturizing shea butter and antioxidant vitamins C & E, nourishes for immediately softer, more beautiful lips.

  • 99% natural
  • Long-lasting moisture for
  • immediately softer, more beautiful lips
  • Shea butter & vitamins C & E
  • Smoothes on clear
  • Precisely glides on lips
  • Twist-off top

Here’s what they’re made of:

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax/Cera Alba (Cire d’abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Sodium Isostearoyl Lactylate, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate

It’s great that these lil spheres are “all-natural”, petrolatum, paraben, gluten, and phthalate-free. They cost about $3 and some change.

Here’s my review:

I actually hate these things. I bought one while I was in line at a Walmart, I tried it and didn’t like it the first time I used it, put it in the bin with the rest of my lippies and came back to it this past winter hoping that my feelings for it would change. Child please! I still don’t like it. I do not like the way it feels on my lips. It makes my lips drier. I feel like it have to keep reapplying it every 20 minutes or so. The scent is fine. It smells like a light strawberry scent and the flavor isn’t an issue. You know those lip balms that you put on and they are so sweet that they make you hungry? Well, this lip balm isn’t like that and that’s a great thing. I find that when I apply them, I have the constant urge to wipe my lips off. I am not a fan of these at all. I don’t even think I will spend another three bucks to try the other flavors. While the EOS packaging is cute and fun looking, I think I will just stick to lip glosses and the medicated Blistex that does my lips just fine.

Have you tried these? Do you like them? What’s your go-to lip balm?
