Review | LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss

The matte gloss craze has taken over and of course, yours truly had jumped aboard the I love matte ship. I purchased one of the LA Girl Matte lip glosses when I visited the Orlando Premiere Beauty Show earlier this year. The shade that I purchased was Black Currant, which is this deep purple vampy shade and I instantly fell in love.

First off, I applied this with no lip liner and you really do not need one with this product in my opinion, simply because the product stays put and it does not bleed past your lip line. The application was smooth and creamy and they dry to a flat matte finish. They are very pigmented and full coverage on the lips. I began researching the line and discovered that they cost $5 on the LA Girl website. I know I wanted all the shades but not at the $80 price point for all 16 shades, so I went over to eBay and Amazon to see what deals I could get. I ended up saving $30 and got the entire collection of all 16 shades for $50 + free shipping.

I will say this… Once they are on your lips and dry, they do not transfer and when you want to remove them, you are going to have to use a very good makeup remover to get them off, the staying power is amazing and you’ll get a little lip staining. My recommendations would be to apply a lip balm or lip primer on your lips first then apply them to your lips. The red color in “frisky” is almost a dupe for MAC’s Ruby Woo! Yup, I said it, and you know, I love myself some Ruby Woo!!!! I did swatches of the glosses for your viewing pleasure, you can watch them in my Youtube video embedded below:

Make sure to rate, comment and subscribe to my Youtube channel and tell me what you think of these glosses if you’ve tried them for yourself.
